Looking Back at E-Week in Louisiana
Engineers Week (E-Week) once again provided an opportunity to celebrate the profession that designs, builds, and sustains the systems and infrastructure that keep Louisiana moving forward. Across our state, engineers play a vital role in strengthening communities, delivering safer transportation networks, resilient water and coastal systems, and modernizing facilities.
For ACEC Louisiana, E-Week is also a reminder of the importance of the business of engineering. Engineering firms are not only problem solvers and innovators; they are significant contributors to Louisiana’s economy. ACEC Louisiana member firms support thousands of high-skilled jobs, generate hundreds of millions of dollars in annual payroll, and enable billions of dollars in construction and infrastructure investment each year. Every engineered project creates ripple effects that support contractors, suppliers, and local businesses throughout the state.
Throughout the week, firms and organizations engaged students and communities to highlight engineering career pathways and the importance of building the next generation workforce needed to meet Louisiana’s growing infrastructure and economic demands.
ACEC Louisiana was also proud to co-host a cocktail reception celebrating Engineers Week alongside our fellow engineering associations, bringing together professionals from across the industry to recognize the collective impact engineers have on our state and to celebrate the collaboration that strengthens our profession.
As we look back on E-Week, we are reminded that engineering’s impact extends far beyond project delivery. It fuels economic opportunity, supports communities, and helps shape Louisiana’s future every day of the year.
On behalf of our ACECL staff and our Board of Governors, thank you for all you do!

Legislative Session Begins Next Week
With the Louisiana Legislative Session set to begin next week, ACEC Louisiana staff and the Legislative Committee have already been hard at work reviewing more than 1,300 prefiled bills to identify those that may impact the business of engineering.
The Bill Tracker, available by clicking the button below, highlights the legislation currently on our radar and most relevant to our industry. Bills highlighted in yellow require additional review and analysis. If you have insight or perspective on any of those measures, we encourage you to share your thoughts to help inform ACEC Louisiana’s engagement this session.
Please send any feedback or input to bdirmann@acecl.org.
