ACEC Louisiana Gearing Up for a Busy Fall

As summer winds down, ACEC Louisiana is gearing up for a busy fall focused on setting our advocacy agenda, strengthening relationships, and creating opportunities for our members to connect.

At the center of that effort is our upcoming Priority Planning Board Retreat, where ACECL Board members and committee chairs will come together to establish the organization’s priorities for the next 10 months. This annual retreat is an important part of ensuring that our time, resources, and advocacy efforts remain focused on the issues that matter most to the business of engineering.

Ahead of the retreat, Board Chair Brett Bayard has challenged each committee chair to develop recommended objectives and action items through a simple but important lens: “How does this impact our member firms’ bottom line?” Whether through legislative advocacy, regulatory reform, improved procurement practices, contract terms, project administration and delivery, or other initiatives, committee objectives should ultimately help member firms increase revenue or decrease expenses. If an issue cannot be tied back to one of those two outcomes, it should not rise to the level of a committee action item.

Committee chairs will present their recommended objectives during the retreat, with the Board reviewing and approving the priorities that will guide ACECL’s work over the coming months. The result will be a focused roadmap centered squarely on ACEC Louisiana’s core mission, representing and advancing the business interests of Louisiana’s engineering firms.

Of course, advocacy and business issues aren’t the only things on the fall calendar. In October, members will have an opportunity to enjoy some friendly competition and networking at our 9 and Wine Ladies Golf Event. Then, November will bring two of ACECL’s biggest events of the year, the Engineering Excellence Awards (EEA) Gala and Fall Conference.

There is a lot happening at ACEC Louisiana this fall, and we look forward to working alongside our members as we set our priorities, celebrate our industry, and continue moving the business of engineering forward.

ACECL BOARD OF GOVERNORS

The Board of Governors will hold their next board meeting on September 18th, 2026.

Join us for a 9-hole ladies golf event filled with networking, prizes, and plenty of fun! Whether you are a seasoned golfer or just in it for the cute outfit, this event is all about connection, community, and friendly ladies play.

All proceeds benefit the ACEC Louisiana PAC! Company and personal payments are accepted for this event.

Event Details:

2-person teams (limited to the first 18 teams to register)
Each team will be assigned a caddie at the event
