Far too often, we only pay attention to our infrastructure if it fails. We take well designed infrastructure for granted because it seamlessly enables us to drive to work, fly on vacation, instantly communicate, or readily access reliably clean water. The Roadshow’s mission is to remind the public and policymakers what good infrastructure means to society, the economy, and the environment. We also want to encourage the next generation of engineers and public works professionals to enter our industry and help develop clean, equitable, and sustainable infrastructure.

Join the American Council of Engineering Companies of Louisiana (ACECL) and  the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), along with project partners and public officials at the Engineering & Public Works Road Show and Tour of the GIWW - West Closure Complex in Belle Chasse, LA, the largest pumping station in the World.  The structural features of the project reduce the risk associated with a storm surge event that has a one percent chance of occurring in any given year, or a 100-year storm surge.  The complex consists of a navigable floodgate, a pumping station, floodwalls, water control structures, foreshore protection and an earthen levee.
